Because outside is so much more interesting.....

I know it has been more than a little while since I utilized this blog, but I am no longer employed, I have a camera and I get bored really easily.

Here are just a few of the pictures I have taken since my last post in 2017 (I've got some catching up to do!)

I will try and get some uploaded at least every other day until it's all caught up.

These pictures were taken from my front porch. Apparently during winter 😏

 This is why I know it was winter. 

My oak trees in the front yard are bare.

The rest of these are across the street from my house, apparently during different stages of sunset.

Welcome to the jungle

where everything is starting to blossom and bloom


Pickin' petunias is now a daily chore.

There are crimson........

my personal favorite, purple.................

and the red star, when this is open fully it reminds me of the Red Cross symbol

The hibiscus is in full bloom and calling all the humming birds....

and the ferns are lush and green.

The tomato garden that looked like this back in April,

Has doubled in size even since this picture was taken in May

And last, but far from least, the obligatory Shiloh shot.

He loves chewing on the sticks that have been soaking in the water for a while. I think he craves salt. He will shred one to pieces.

When you find a trail you just have to follow...

PB and I found a bird sanctuary trail and decided to check it out.
Though we didn't see any birds, like not a one! I did get some pretty cool pictures.

Even the weeds are pretty on a nice spring day!

 Then I started playing with a lens that I had brought with me.

This one actually got picked to be used in one of our station i.d. promos.

 This one just has that, "no! Don't go in there!" look to it!

 We ended up back at the dock for a bit. Just watching the water and listening to the birds.

Yes, the same ones that were hiding when I wanted to take their pictures. Those birds!

Outside messing around

I decided to pull out the camera the other day and just take pictures of , well........, outside.
I am sure you have seen a gazabillion pictures like these.
But I like 'em

Playing around Saturday night

I was just sitting outside Saturday night and caught a glimpse of the moon coming up from behind the tree. You know I had to break out the camera!

 

This first picture I think is absolutely awesome. Mainly because this looks creepy as hell. And really it's not, it's just a big oak that stands in the back yard. It's great for tire swings and bird feeders and shading the pool in the hot summer months.

Then I was playing with the camera and got this shot. It's just .... creepy looking to me.

Too  many scary movies I guess.

I had the shutter open for like 3 seconds on this one, yeah, I needed the tripod for sure.

 After I got the tripod the pictures came out much better.

See, nothing creepy about the tree in this one.

 I was constantly adjusting the iso and shutter and aperture and finally I got this picture.

I think this one is what I was going for.

Anyway, just messing around. Sometimes I like these pictures and sometimes I think "WTH were you thinking when you took that shot?!"

But I guess it's all in the learning curve.
